“Well aren’t you dating someone?” Oh the times I’ve been asked this question, and it wasn’t by that cute godly guy from church. I do suppose just about everyone else my age in this modern world is dating someone, but me. Do I think it would be fun to go out on dates, yes, but would it be a waste of my time to date someone I knew God didn’t send for me? Absolutely. I think a lot of the young girls and guys get caught up with the trend of dating. Dating is fun, but it isn’t a game that God sent for us to play. When you’re 14 and have a boyfriend/girlfriend, sorry but chances are it isn’t going to last forever. If you want the ONE that is going to last a lifetime, don’t hop from person to person hoping that this one sticks. Focus on God, have fun serving him, live your life like there is no tomorrow!
Matthew 6:33 “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Psalms 37:4 “Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he shall give you the desires of your heart.”
Don’t sit and wait indolently by and think that one day the person is just going to knock on your door holding a ring. If there is someone you want to date and they don’t want to date you, don’t push it. You’ll not only weird that person out but you will push them away. Like way far away. If there is someone you want to date and they don’t notice you, then don’t change yourself to get them to notice you. Pray about who to date, before you even considering dating someone make sure you and God are on the same page.
Acts 1:7 “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.”
It’s not the end of the world if you don’t have a date every Friday or Saturday night, nobody is going to die if you don’t have a date to prom. Even if you’re almost out of highschool, you don’t have a boyfriend and the only people pursuing you are NOT what you want in a life partner, don’t settle. Settling is such a waste of time, its a waste of your LIFE! Go travel, spend this time you have single to do whatever you want and what you can’t do once you have a family. Climb to the top of mountains and climb waterfalls, buy a random plane ticket and take a weekend trip to anywhere. Go do what you love. Go live your life. Girls, work to become a Proverbs 31 Woman who is worthy of marrying a Boaz. Guys, work to become a Boaz who is worthy of a Proverbs 31 Woman.
